German scientist in Australia discovers "the most rapidly growing black hole" of the universe

Black holes are some of the strangest and most fascinating components of the universe. Some are tiny, others gigantic. A German astrophysicist in Canberra has now discovered the most rapidly growing black hole - 12 billion light years away.


Dr Christian Wolf, who was educated in Germany at the Max-Planck Institute for Astronomy, is Leading the SkyMapper project and the Australian National University node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in All-Sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO).

Christian Froelicher spoke to him about his ground-breaking discovery.
