The path to safety is rocky for many who come as refugees or asylum seekers, and trauma can stay long after they arrive.


Visiting German psychologist  Professor Frank Neuner  pioneered ‘Narrative Exposure Therapy’, a short-term mental health intervention for people who have experienced multiple and complex traumas such as rape, war and torture.

He tells Wolfgang Mueller that his therapy helps refugees adjust to their new surroundings.
