Australia must help its aluminum industry with a billion-dollar bailout package. 3.6 billion dollars are being mobilized to secure the future of Australia's largest aluminum smelter. This was preceded by a warning that the plant in Tomago near Newcastle, in NSW, would have to close as early as 2028 due to rising energy costs.
