Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Australia from 8 to 10 July and he is welcomed like a rock star. A central highlight of the visit is the “Melbourne Meets Modi” event, which is taking place today, July 9, at a soccer stadium in Melbourne. This event brings together thousands of members of the Indian diaspora and celebrates the cultural ties between the two countries. Rarely does a visitor in this country receive such a welcome.
