Representatives of leading Cypriot organisations are holding their annual conferences at the Australian capital this weekend.


The opening of the annual conferences of the leading Cypriot organisations in Antipodes began today in Cyprus’ High Commission in Canberra.

In attendance were Archbishop Makarios, the High Commissioner Martha Mavrommatis, the presiding officers of the Federation of Cyprus Communities of Australia and New Zealand, the Pan-Australian Coordinating Committee for Cyprus and NEPOMAK (the youth arm) and other dignitaries, including Senator Zed Seselja representing the Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

The conferences will take place this weekend at the Hellenic Club of Canberra with the Cyprus Community of the capital being the host.

The proceedings will be concluded late Sunday afternoon with the launch of the book (in Greek), “Makarios: Honourable Compromise- Not Capitulation”.
