A memorial service was conducted yesterday at the Greek-Orthodox Cathedral in Sydney for the victims of Genocide of the Greeks in Pontos, Minor Asia and Thrace (1914-1924.
Archbishop Makarios led the service. In his message, his Eminence stressed that “Pontos was a special place, with great contribution to Orthodoxy”. He appealed to the present Pontian delegates to pass to the new generations their traditions and values as if they belong of all humanity.
