Scott Morrison had a telephone discussion last night (AEST) with the prime minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis and invited his Greek counterpart to visit Australia.

The dangerous Delta mutation of COVID-19, the vaccinations and the trade relations between Australia, Greece and the EU were among the topics discussed last night by the two leaders, according to information sent to SBS Greek by Mr Morrison's office.

According to the announcement, "The Prime Minister had a warm discussion with Greek PM Mitsotakis last night. They compared notes on responding to the COVID-19 challenges, particularly the Delta strain and their respective vaccination programs, expanding trade opportunities through the EU-Australia FTA currently being negotiated, climate change, and cooperation on multilateral organisations. The Prime Minister invited Prime Minister Mitsotakis to visit Australia."
