Antisemitic and racist threats against the Australian Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg have forced the Australian Federal Police to provide him with a 24 hours police guard, an unprecedented move re a Federal Treasurer in Australia’s history. The Australian Jewish community and Israel have lost a dedicated friend and defender in Parliament with the retirement of the Labor Party’s Mike Kelly MP for the seat of Eden-Monaro, because of health reasons, although the stoic ex-Defence Meteriel Minister and ADF officer intends to continue his advocacy of the Jewsih State and the Australian Jewish community. Australia’s Chief Scientist Alan Finkel has praised the Scientific and Medical communities’ rallying to advise the Australian and State Governments re the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in Australia being in a far better position than many other equivalent nations.
