Alex Dafner with the latest report in Yiddish The situation regarding Covid -19 infections at the Melbourne Jewish Care Victoria’s Hannah & Daryl Cohen Family Home had further improved this week, with no infected residents, but five staff still infected with the virus. The federal Liberal MP Kraig Kelly was strongly criticised for comparing the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in Victoria to the situation in pre-war Nazi Germany on his Facebook page, a post for which he later apologised, albeit with excuses for his outrageous outburst. A hateful speech against Jews and Israel, which also included threats against Jews and moderate Arab leaders who recognise Israel, delivered at a rally by the spiritual leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Australia, Ismail al-Wahwah in 2017, but only uploaded to YouTube on July 29th this year, is being investigated by Australia’s counter-terrorism police, following complaints by the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, with the ECAJ also arguing that the organisations legal status should be reviewed.
