“I think the purpose of my voice is to teach people history, to show people that history is repeating itself”

Natalie Sanandaji at SBS Studio

In a moving conversation with SBS Hebrew, Nova Festival attack survivor Natalie Sanandaji shares her ordeal escaping the massacre on October 7, 2023, in southern Israel. She reflects on the shock of violence, her instinct to protect her mother from distress and the life-or-death split decisions that saved her. Natalie also explains her trauma as disassociation and the ensuing media’s hostile and changing narrative, rising global antisemitism and her commitment to speaking out for those unable to do so, emphasising the urgent need for broader education and historical understanding.
