Jeremy Jones paid tribute to late Cardinal Cassidy for building interfaith relationship with the Jewish people


A special interview with Jeremy Jones, who paid tribute to Edward Idris Cassidy AC who was an Australian Roman Catholic cardinal priest that died a few months ago.
He was the President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. He headed the Commission of the Holy See for Religious Relations with the Jews. Jeremy Jones met the Cardinal and paid tribute to him for building interfaith relationship and understanding with the Jewish people. The Cardinal accompanied Pope John Paul II to Auschwitz and played a leading role in driving the process of Holocaust education.
In 2005 Cardinal Cassidy told the ABC: We have the same God. Our moral values have the same source in the Torah or the Old Testament. We have the same understanding of this world in which we live. Our new spirit of friendship and caring for one another may be the most important symbol that we have to offer to our troubled world.
