SBS Yiddish report with Alex Dafner... Jewish aged care organizations and eminent health experts warmly welcomed the unveiling of the national Covid-19 vaccination program in Australia and expressed their readiness and support for the program, whilst reassuring and urging the Jewish community to get behind it and to get vaccinated as soon as it becomes possible. The Australian Parliament this week reaffirmed its promise to never forget the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust, when it moved a bipartisan motion to that effect, proposed by the Jewish MP Julian Leeser, whilst marking last month’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Victorian Government together with the Gandel Philanthropy, announced $150,000 in funding for the rollout of a pilot program, developed with the Melbourne Jewish Holocaust Centre and focusing on teacher training, to enable them to institute compulsory education about the Holocaust in years 9 and 10 of the curriculum in Victorian State Secondary schools.
