Neomy Storch was an associate professor of applied linguistics at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Her research focused on second language writing. We talk to Neomy about the main linguistic and cultural challenges faced by children who migrate to Australia at various ages.

Neomy herself came to Australia as a 13 year old child, hence she experienced those challenges first hand. Neomy also refers to the importance of multicultural media such as SBS radio and TV in maintaining both the language and identity of young migrants.
