Professor Raymond Sacks has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours, one of the Australia’s highest recognitions for outstanding achievements and service. Based in Sydney, Professor Sacks received the honour for his distinguished contribution to otolaryngology, clinical training, tertiary education and leadership in medical governance. In a conversation with SBS Hebrew, Professor Sacks reflected on his career that spans several decades, spent helping advance patient care while mentoring generations of healthcare professionals.
