Former Jewish students at Melbourne’s Brighton Secondary College have told the Federal Court of Australia, in their action against the school and the Victorian Education Department that serious antisemitic bullying, swastika graffiti and violent threats, were part of Jewish students’ daily lives at the school, and teachers and the principal did not intervene.
Tasmania is the latest state to announce its intention to ban the public displays of the Nazi swastika, following similar actions by the State Governments in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
