Australian Jewish Community leaders and Israeli national leaders congratulated the incoming Australian PM Anthony Albanese and his Labor government on coming to power, and whilst the loss of Liberal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg in Kooyong was highly regretted by most of the Australian Jewish community, other Jewish candidates in Victoria and NSW have remained in their respective seats in the forthcoming parliament.
The largest Jewish school in Australia, Mt Scopus College, has unveiled its plans to move its Burwood campus to Caulfield, in the heart of the Melbourne Jewish community and simultaneously revealed the communal sports, arts, entertainment and other facilities that will be incorporated on the site.
The Australian Union of Jewish University Students has strongly protested the acceptance of an anti-Israel and what they claim antisemitic motion, by the Australian National University Students’ Association that was first formulated and passed by the University of Melbourne Student Union.
