The Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced that the Government will adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism, matching  the Opposition Labor Party’s long standing promise to adopt the definition as policy, of a future Australian Government.

 

Eddie Jaku OAM, e”h, Holocaust survivor, well know Sydney and Australian spokesman, co-founder of the Sydney Jewish and Holocaust Museum and author of the popular autobiography “The Happiest Man Alive”, has died at the age of 101, earning high praise and recognition from the Australian PM, Treasurer, NSW ex-Premier and Jewish and non-Jewish leaders and organisations.

 

Australia Post has apologised and corrected its listing of the Palestinian Territories as “Occupied”, the only one to be listed as such, in the listing of destinations for letter and parcel posting, following complaints from the Jewish media, AIJAC and Anti-Defamation Commission.

 

Covid infection cases in Jewish kindergartens in Melbourne have forced the closure and deep cleaning of these facilities, in three Jewish colleges, Mt Scopus, Bialik and Sholem Aleichem College.
