The Australian PM Scott Morrison spoke about the continuing virus of antisemitism and need for constant vigilance, at the Australian Holocaust Museum Alliance’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day event on the 27th January 2022.
The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and the Hindu Council of Australia made a joint submission to the NSW Parliament Committee hearing on the banning the display of Nazi symbols, such as the swastika, which also called for a broad education about the ancient, sacred Hindu symbol of the swastika, one that in contrast to the Nazi’s symbol represents purity, peace and love.
The director of the Sydney Festival, Olivia Ansell, accused organisers of a boycott of the festival, because of the Israeli Embassy’s donation to the Sydney Dance Company’s tribute to the Israeli Bathsheba Dance Company, of intimidating and pressuring artists to join the boycott.
The Gandel Foundation has made what is believed to be the largest donation ever made from Australia to Israel, for the building of a new Hadassah Hospital Rehabilitation Centre in Jerusalem, that will serve all of Israel’s population.
