EARLIER:
Two senior Indian citizens who recently travelled together from India to Australia have accidentally swapped their passports.
Manjeet Singh and Gurjeet Kaur Sidhu were flying on the same Cathay Pacific flight from New Delhi to Melbourne on November 12th.
“My uncle, Manjeet Singh met this lady on the Hong Kong airport and being an Indian, he chatted with her at the airport,” Jazz Dhindsa told SBS Hindi.
Upon their arrival in Melbourne, Mr Singh helped Ms Sidhu with her luggage at the airport.

“She is an old lady. So my uncle helped her with her bags. He asked her to hold his passport while he helped her with bags and trolley.
“She held onto her passport and my uncle’s passport. We believe that is when the passports got swapped.
“Unfortunately they did not check the passport before she handed it back. So my uncle has got her passport and I believe she is in possession of my uncle’s passport,” Mr Dhindsa says.
The family realised the passports had been swapped when Mr Singh reached Melbourne International Airport on Wednesday morning.
“We realised we had the lady’s passport when we reached the airport today. We had to cancel his flight,” he says.
The Dhindsa family has now appealed for community’s help to look for Ms Sidhu.
“My uncle says the lady told him she was visiting her son in Melbourne and he works at the airport.
“We understand she is from Sangrur, Punjab.
“That’s all we know about her. If somebody can help us locate her, we would be grateful,” he says.
