An Indian doctor was removed from an IndiGo flight on Monday after he allegedly complained about mosquitoes.
Saurabh Rai, a Bengaluru-based surgeon who was travelling from Lucknow to Bengaluru on Monday morning complained about mosquitoes on the flight to the airline crew.
Mr Rai asked the crew to address the issue but the crew asked him to sit down quietly.
He alleges that the IndiGo staff manhandled him and removed him from the flight.
"The Indigo flight from Lucknow to Bengaluru was full of mosquitoes, when I raised an objection, I was manhandled by the crew and offloaded from the aircraft, I was even threatened," Mr Rai was quoted by ANI.
IndiGo airline has said in tweets that Saurabh Rai was off-loaded for "unruly behaviour" and after he used the word "hijack".
"Before the cabin crew could address his concerns he became aggressive and used threatening language," IndiGo said on their official Twitter handle.
It is not for the first time IndiGo airline has been accused of manhandling passengers.
In October last year, a passenger was restrained and manhandled by IndiGo employees at the Delhi airport. The airline apologised after the video went viral.
Rajeev Katiyal, who was travelling from Chennai to Delhi, said he was physically prevented from boarding the coach by airline staff. The video shows the flight-crew and Mr Katiyal getting into a confrontation.
The airline apologised and said the staff member involved had been fired.
"[The] Incident [was] probed by a designated committee. [They] took action against [the] staff [member] who was the main culprit by immediately terminating his employment," the airline said.
