The wait for India vs Pakistan is finally over. Both the cricket teams will meet to play a T20 match at Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Saturday evening.
The game is scheduled to be played at 7pm local time, which is midnight in Australia (AEST).
This will be India’s second game in the Asia Cup and Pakistan’s first game of this T20 tournament.
Asia Cup’s format was moved from 50 over game to T20 to prepare the subcontinent teams for the coming T20 worldcup in India.
India definitely has an edge in this game after beating Bangladesh in the inaugural match. For Pakistan, this will be their first game in the tournament.
The teams are meeting after almost a year. Their last clash being the world cup 50 over match played at Adelaide in Australia, which India won.
India’s recent victory in the T20 series against Australia and Srilanka certainly make them favourites, not just for Asia Cup but also for the T20 worldcup. India’s batsmen – Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh are in top form.
In complete contrast, Pakistan recently lost their last two T20 series against England and New Zealand by 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. In the aftermath, Ahmed Shehzad was removed from the Asia Cup and World T20 team.
