The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is back and some of India’s biggest names in stand-up comedy will perform at the festival in Melbourne starting March 30th.

The Indian stand-up comedians who are performing in Melbourne are:

Founding member of ‘East India Comedy’, Sorabh Pant, who is known for his energy and overt expressiveness on stage. He also has an Amazon Prime comedy special ‘My Dad Thinks He’s Funny’, best-selling novel ‘Pawan: The Flying Accountant’ and 2.5 million Twitter followers under his belt.
Former journalist Aditi Mittal who broke ground in the Indian comedy scene being one of the first women to join the circuit, and is now one of its best-known and most-loved performers too is coming. She toured her first solo show ‘Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say’ extensively before the show was picked up by Netflix, and in 2017 her Edinburgh Fringe Festival debut ‘Global Village Idiot’ enjoyed hit seasons in Edinburgh and London.
One of India’s premier comedy stars, Azeem Banatwalla, known for his sharp comedy writing and intelligent stand-up is in Melbourne too. His observational style and natural charisma landed Azeem his own Amazon Prime comedy special and he is also a member of the popular comedy collective ‘East India Comedy’.

Karunesh Talwar, a young writer and performer known for his tough take on the everyday life will be performing at the Comedy Zone Asia. A former writer and performer for India’s prime comedy consultancy ‘Weirdass Comedy’, Karunesh treads the comedy line with incisive wit that keeps the audience on their toes.
Rising star Rahul Subramanian started out with an MBA, before jumping ship to tackle open-mic comedy nights as a New Year’s resolution. His goofy stage persona has won him favour with judges, taking out the Pajama Fest, Canvas Club and East India Comedy Virgin Pants open mic competitions.
