A 27-year-old mother has been charged with murder of her 2-year-old daughter who was discovered dead inside a Sydney home on Tuesday noon, 7 News reported.
The mother of the toddler is hospitalised in Blue Mountains after she met with an accident over the weekend.
According to The Daily Telegraph, police said the toddler was murdered sometime between 6am on Saturday and 12.30pm on Tuesday.
The mother was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with murder. She was made to appear in a Sydney court via video link from the hospital.
During this it was revealed the little girl may have been dead for up to three days.
The 27-year-old mother did not apply for bail.
The case has been adjourned to Campbelltown Local Court till November 9.
Police are still investigating how the little girl died. Police are also trying to find out if the child was alone at home or being looked after while the mother was away on weekend and met with the accident.
Robyn Fransisco, whose parents live opposite the house, earlier on Tuesday said the mother “didn’t seem like the kind of mother who’d leave her daughter alone”.
