NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Federal Immigration Minister Alex Hawke have joined other leaders in wishing the community on Holi.
Premier Berejiklian said Holi has become a global festival bringing together people of Indian heritage and the wider community.
"The colourful Holi festival symbolises the eternal divine love between Radha and Krishna," Premier Berejiklian said.
"An important cultural and religious occasion, it also symbolises the universal theme of the triumph of good over evil.
"I wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe Holi and hope you enjoy the festival," Ms. Berejiklian said.
Federal Immigration Minister Alex Hawke commended the 700,000-strong Indian ancestry for bringing the festival of colours to life for the wider Australian community.

"It is a valuable addition to our nation's rich cultural tradition," Mr Hawke said.
He extended his "warmest wishes" to everyone celebrating Holi.

"Your support for all Australians at times of need, from the devastating bushfires to the COVID-19 pandemic, has shown the community to embody the values that bind all Australians together," he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition and Labor leader Anthony Albanese extended their wishes to the Hindu Australian community.
