Police are seeking public assistance to locate three men to assist them in relation with alleged indecent assault on Sydney's public transport.

New South Wales (NSW) Police have appealed for public assistance and have released CCTV footage as they investigate several cases of indecent assault on Sydney’s public transport.

A 19-year-old woman was allegedly indecently assaulted by a man on a train travelling to Auburn from St James railway state on August 17, 2018, around 6 pm.

The police believe the man described as being of Indian sub-continental appearance, about 165 cm tall, aged in his late 20s or early 30s can assist with inquiries.

CCTV footage shows he has short dark hair and facial hair, wearing a grey hooded jacket, navy pants, bright blue shoes and a navy backpack.

In another case, an 18-year-old woman was allegedly indecently assaulted by a man while on a bus travelling from Parramatta to Baulkham Hills in March 2019.

The Police believe a man described as being of Indian sub-continental appearance, aged in his late 20s, pictured with short dark hair and facial hair, wearing a short-sleeve navy collared shirt, blue jeans can assist them with inquiries.
Commander of the Police Transport Command North West Sector, Detective Superintendent Brad Monk, said the efforts behind Operation Artemis will continue investigating and preventing crime on public transport.

“It’s unacceptable that people going about their day-to-day lives on public transport are subject to such cowardly acts,” Supt Monk said.

“We remind the public who have been subject to an assault on public transport that any information you provide to police will be treated with the strictest of confidence, and our inquiries will be extensive,” Supt Monk said.
