The Indian High Commission says the schedule of six Air India flights from Australia to Melbourne has been changed due to the latest steps by the Victorian and other governments in Australia.
Highlights:
- Two phases of the repatriation program have taken place from Australia.
- Third phase was scheduled to start from 5 July.
- The rescheduled flights for the third phase would fly from Sydney and Melbourne from 17 July.
The flights which were scheduled to take off from Sydney and Melbourne between 5th and 14th July will now fly between 17th and 20th July
The High Commission of India in Canberra announced the revised schedule on Twitter.
“Due to the recent COVID-19 related restrictions imposed on international flights in Australia, the flights in the next phase of Vande Bharat Mission from Australia are being rescheduled,” it said.

The new schedule, however, is subject to change according to the circumstance.
During the first phase, seven flights carried Indians from Sydney and Melbourne to India on Air India while the second phase commenced on June 17 with eight flights to India.
By the end of the second phase, almost 3,500 people have been repatriated to India.
