2022: Dominated by sudden and shocking war, the year rocked the world - in many ways

This year, as the world began to emerge out of the worst of the pandemic, the international community was rocked by war and inspired by sporting achievements. 2022 saw armed conflicts, political assassinations, floods, mass protests, and the passing of royalty while the silver lining came for many with football's biggest tournament.
