One Nation's plan to cut migration by more than 750,000 places over three years has drawn pushback from universities, industry and international student representatives.


One Nation's new migration policy proposes cutting intake by more than 750,000 places over three years, including almost 470,000 places for international students, graduate visa holders and their families.

Leader Pauline Hanson says she's implementing the will of the people, but the university sector and industry warn it could damage the economy and worsen skills shortages.

Anumanthram Senthilkumar, Founder and President of the Association of Indian Students of Australia, says the proposals are only a short-term solution and policymakers need to look at other ways to fix the problem.
