Miss Grand Australia's finalist Krishna Shukla aims to break stereotypes

In 2021, Krishna was awarded with the title of 'Young Canberra Citizen of the Year' and aims to inspire more women of 'colour' to come forward in such pageants.
'Miss Grand Australia' is one of Australia’s pageants owned and run by former beauty contest winners. In this year's contest, Krishna Shukla, of Indian descent, has made it to the final round. Ms Krishna spoke exclusively to SBS Hindi about misconceptions surrounding the pageant industry and what it means to be the only contestant representing 'Australian-Indian culture'.
