Despite growing awareness about mental health and the introduction of the right to disconnect, new research shows workplace burnout among Australians is worsening. Around three million people are likely to consider leaving their jobs within the next year. Experts say heavy workloads, unrealistic deadlines, and blurred work-life boundaries are key drivers. Studies by Allianz Australia and Superfriend highlight that burnout remains high, particularly in healthcare, education, and retail sectors.
