When Dr Rashmi Rao Ajjavara moved to Cairns, she discovered more than just a place to work, she found a community, a lifestyle, and a sense of belonging. As a practising doctor and President of the Cairns Indian Association, she’s an advocate for the many benefits of regional living in Australia, from a close-knit multicultural community to shorter commutes and stunning natural surroundings. In this conversation with SBS Hindi, she opens up about her journey and why cities like Cairns are increasingly on the radar for skilled professionals.
