UNESCO has opened their two-day conference in Paris which seeks to find ways to protect freedom of expression and protect users from disinformation as well as hate speech on social media platforms.

UNESCO has opened a two-day conference in Paris, aiming at providing social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook with principles that would compel them to help limit the risk of misinformation and violent rhetoric. The conference is taking place as United States and Australia attempting to hold these tech giants to account for negative effects of unregulated digital space. Listen to this podcast for more.
