Pervez Musharraf ruled Pakistan for nearly a decade.

Former military ruler of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, has died at age 79 after spending years in self-imposed exile and battling an illness in hospital. Four-star general had seized power in a coup and later survived several attempts on his life over years from militant Islamists.
