As the Hindu community celebrates Ganesh festival, which began on 14 September this year, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has extended his wishes to the community.
In his message, the Prime Minister said the community would be uplifted by the "cherished rituals embraced by generations", describing the celebrations as “a powerful and beautiful honouring of your heritage here in the land that is your home.”
Those sentiments are reflected in Adelaide, where the Ganesh festival, organised by the United Indians of South Australia (UIOSA) for the past 10 years, has grown into a major social and cultural event, bringing together the community to celebrate tradition, culture and faith.
