Men's eating disorders on the rise, yet little attention

Around a third of the people diagnosed with an eating disorder in Australia are men. In 2019, the Butterfly Foundation estimated that more than 360,000 Australian men were living with an eating disorder. However, experts believe that lack of awareness, misdiagnoses and under reporting are among the reasons making people think that men don’t suffer from this illness.
