Sydney recently saw the hosting of the South Asian Film Festival of Australia. The festival showcased short films from countries like India, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives. The three-day festival saw huge community participation. The festival especially focused on independent filmmakers. It aims to grow into a platform that becomes a bridge between the Australian mainstream cinescape and independent artists.
