Malai kofta curry
Ingredients
For Malai Kofta
- 1 Cup Boiled mashed potato
- ½ cup Bread crumbs
- 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander
- 1 Cup Crumbed/Grated Paneer
- 3 tbsp Finely chopped onion
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- ½ tbsp Finley chopped green chilli
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For kofta curry
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 cup chopped tomato
- 1tbl cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp cashews
- ¼ cup thick cream
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Water as needed
- Chopped coriander for garnish
Method
- Firstly lets make the malai koftas.
- In a bowl add mashed potato, bread crumbs, chopped coriander, crumbed paneer, finely chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, green chilli, turmeric powder, Garam masala powder and salt.
- Mix everything into dough like consistency.
- Make small round balls and deep fry the balls till golden brown.
- Keep them ready to add to the curry.
- Now lets make the curry.
- Take a pan add oil, add cumin seeds, onion and turmeric powder, cashew and salt.
- Cook the onions till they turn translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste cook for 1 min and add tomato, red chilli powder, garam masala powder.
- Mix add water if needed.
- Once the tomato is about half cooked, turn the heat off let the curry cool down.
- Transfer the curry into a grinder and grind it into a smooth consistency.
- Put it back in the pan and cook till the curry is fully cooked.
- Once ready turn the heat off and add the kafta balls and coat all the balls with the curry.
- Garnish with some coriander and serve.
