A report on the state of the Australian environment revealing the impact of climate change on native species and ecosystems has been labeled 'shocking'

The report is published every five years.

The latest report describes Australia's environment as "deteriorating and deteriorating", and states that mainland temperatures have risen 1.4 degrees since consistent records began.

Biodiversity has also been destroyed, "Australia has lost more mammal species than any other continent", and at least 19 ecosystems are on the brink of collapse.
