SBS Indonesian spoke with Citra Orwela, a doctoral student at Flinders University and the chair of the Adelaide Islamic Studies or Kajian Islam Adelaide (KIA) group for the past two years.
Ms Orwela explained her group's activities — especially during the fasting month of Ramadan — and how the Indonesian and local communities around Adelaide are involved.
The mother of three also discussed the challenges faced by Muslims in Australia during Ramadan and how Islam views them.
