Cannabis decriminalisation comes into effect in ACT

The ACT will become/has become ((Jan 31)) the first state or territory in the country to decriminalise the personal use of cannabis.


The laws were passed last year and sparked controversy in the capital, with the Federal Government warning people could still be charged with a criminal offence federally.

 

But some users of the drug argue the laws will help break down stigma around drug use
