A special Friday prayer service has been held in Christchurch to remember the 51 people killed in attacks on the two mosques in New Zealand, almost one year ago.

Almost 12 months since New Zealand’s worst terror attack altered Friday prayers forever, hundreds of worshippers from Al Noor and Linwood mosques gather under one roof, reflecting on the 51 lives lost.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern reflected on the incident as "fundamentally changing" the country and survivors have told SBS News of how their lives have forever been changed.
