State and territory leaders are discouraging people from attending mass protests after Black Lives Matter demonstrations on the weekend. There are concerns they could lead to a spike in COVID-19 infections.

Australia's political leaders are worried about a possible spike in coronavirus cases in the coming weeks after thousands demonstrated on the weekend in the Black Lives Matter protests.

Australia is managing to suppress the spread of COVID-19 with only two new cases in the past 24 hours and both of those were returned travellers in hotel quarantine in New South Wales.

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your state’s restrictions on gathering limits.

Testing for coronavirus is now widely available across Australia. If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.

The Federal Government's coronavirus tracing app COVIDSafe is available for download from your phone's app store.
