How the inspirational young people of Mataram worked creatively to oppose religiously based violence

In 2016 the province of West Nusa Tenggara was deemed to be a red zone for beliefs in violence based in religion. Members of the Mataram Young Peoples’ Council took steps to counter the trend. How did they do it?


The Mataram Young Peoples’ Council is a group of youngsters who are active in opposing beliefs in violence based on religion.  They began their campaign by visiting schools where they worked with the Asia Foundation to observe behaviours.  They then took a creative approach to deal with the trends they observed.
