New questions have been raised about the military's use of Hart Lake after a stray missile was found inside a restricted heritage zone.


Hart Lake in South Australia is a significant cultural site for the Kokatha people of South Australia. The site has been used to launch rockets and test missiles for decades.

Lake Hart holds deep cultural significance for the Kokatha people, connecting them with the storylines of their ancestors.

But a large military firing range is in outback South Australia - about six hours northwest of Adelaide located in a section of the lake within the Woomera Forbidden Area.
