It’s not about speed, but about the courage to set out on the journey, enjoy every step, and celebrate what you’ve worked so hard for from the very beginning.

Thousands of runners from all over the world gathered on the Gold Coast, Australia, to participate in one of the most iconic running events. Among the participants were members of the Indonesian Diaspora, who successfully completed the full marathon challenge covering a distance of 42.195 kilometers.

Completing a full marathon is no small achievement. Covering a distance of 42.195 kilometres requires months of disciplined training, physical endurance, and mental resilience. For many runners, crossing the finish line represents far more than a personal milestone; it is the culmination of countless early mornings, consistent effort, and unwavering determination.

For the Indonesian participants, the race also became an opportunity to showcase the growing culture of running within the diaspora community in Australia. Despite balancing careers, family commitments, and daily responsibilities, they remained committed to their training and inspired others to pursue healthier, more active lifestyles.

The atmosphere throughout the Gold Coast Marathon was filled with energy and encouragement. Spectators lined the course, volunteers cheered on every participant, and fellow runners motivated one another from start to finish. The sense of camaraderie reminded everyone that while each runner has a personal goal, the marathon is also about supporting one another along the journey.

For first time marathon finishers, the experience was especially memorable. Every kilometre tested both body and mind, but the reward of crossing the finish line made every sacrifice worthwhile. The accomplishment serves as a reminder that perseverance and consistency can turn ambitious goals into reality.

Their achievement is an inspiration not only for fellow Indonesians in Australia but also for anyone considering taking the first step toward their own fitness journey.
