Jejak & Bisik explore and give voice to woman’s experiences

At Sydney fest 50th anniversary in 2026 two Indonesian dancers, Alfira O’Sullivan and Murtala will showcase their newly commissioned works Sisa-Sisa i.


Sisa-Sisa which consist of two works, Jejak & Bisik will be performed by Alfira and Gelumbang Raya by Murtala will be staged at the Sydney Arts Centre, on the 23 and 24 of January.

Alfira O'Sullivan, founder and artistic director of Suara Indonesia Dance, will perform Jejak & Bisik, which explores her various roles, experiences, and physical changes, particularly as a dancer.

Through her culturally rich dance, Alfira seeks to give voice to collective rituals grounded in her personal memories as a woman, such as bodily changes, aging, and perimenopause.
