'Must be appreciated': Music and dance composition integrated in 'Primadona'

'Proud', 'must be appreciated' are just some of the responses from visitors who watched the musical drama Primadona in Melbourne.


Temulawak 2025 staged “Primadona” at The National Theatre in St Kilda, Melbourne, on Saturday 23 August 2025.

The production ran for about two hours, was formed as a part of the annual program of Victoria's Indonesian Students Association (PPIA), and attracted a large number of audiences — students and members of the Indonesian diaspora.

SBS Indonesian spoke with three audience members - Natania Princista, Joewie Ameline and Gema Suwandi - about their impressions after the show. SBS Indonesian also interviewed cast member Windy Ayu, who played Vanessa Prikitiw, an antagonist.
