In the centre of Sydney bollards have been installed to block vehicle access to Martin Place, one of the main pedestrian malls and a prime location for food vans that distribute food to homeless people.

Some homeless in the city of Sydney, activists and free food providers expressed their disappointment at the placement of vehicle barriers into the Martin Place location.

A Senior lecturer and Professor of Sociology at Macquarie University in Sydney said he believed the placement of the bollards was a reason to oppose the homeless community.
