More than five million Australians have incontinence - but campaigns to tackle the problem have largely focused on women. This has prompted the Continence Foundation of Australia to launch a campaign to raise awareness about what men can do to treat bladder and bowel problems.

Good pelvic health is essential for everyone, but it's an area that experts say men ignore - due to a lack of knowledge and shyness about the issue.

The Continence Foundation of Australia says many men don't realize the importance of good pelvic floor muscle control, how to do pelvic floor exercises, and when and where to seek help when problems arise.

The Foundation says it's not just older men, with their latest data showing that of the 1.36 million Australian men who have reported continence problems - more than a third are under 50.

The three main problems are post-voiding incontinence which means leakage after going to the toilet, weak male pelvic floor strength and prostate problems.
