The New South Wales Greens party has revealed what it calls a "quota" of personal and strip-searches that police are ordered to conduct over 12 months.

New numbers show New South Wales police aimed to conduct more than 240,000 personal searches last financial year, including ‘frisk’ and strip-searches.

The figures were obtained by state Greens MP David Shoebridge under Freedom of Information laws.
